In #Tbilisi, protesters have “decorated” a Christmas tree on #Rustaveli Avenue with a #Ukrainian flag.

The installation of the tree began late Saturday night, organized by “#TbilService_Group” while protesters were absent from the area near the parliament. However, they returned on the evening of December 8.

Efforts to fully decorate the tree were interrupted. At one point, police formed a cordon around the site.

Security forces disperse protesters in #Tbilisi

Police are pushing protesters away from the parliament building on #Rustaveli Avenue using water cannons. Tear gas is also reported to have been used.

Demonstrators are being detained. It is alleged that even those who were peacefully moving away from the parliament building are being targeted by security forces.
