Big day today: I ran the #venloop2026 half marathon. The weather was ideal. 10° C, sunny and the forecasted strong gusts did not show up. Took it kind of easy but still finished strong. Still have it in me.

Today was the time for a little fitness test given that the #Venloop2026 half marathon is only two weeks away. So I went to have a virtual 10k race in a pace slightly faster than half marathon race pace. I succeeded.

Picking up some bits and pieces this morning from Lidl, and in the white goods section is their own brand (Crivit) Carbon plated super running shoe.

It's actually quite nice if you like this kind of thing, I've seen a few video reviews on YouTube about this shoe, and quite honestly thought someone was taking the piss, but here we are and there it is.

3 weeks to go until my half marathon takes place. The weather was very kind to me today for my easy run. 2:15h in bright sunshine and perfectly warm spring temperatures. Crazy how warm it is in early March!

Replaced yesterday’s 1-hour run with a 2-hour road bike ride and added a 2-hour easy run today. Spring is finally here, for now, and the sun came out each of the last 4 days. That makes running and everything else better!
