Just got back from the fanciest restaurant I've ever been to - the 2 Michelin Star Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham.
We've intended to go for years but never had the time (or the money!) so when our eldest presented us with a booking for Christmas, we were very pleased.
Hang the expense (and it was *very* expensive) - I have never eaten such incredible food anywhere. The word exquisite doesn't even come close.
Beans on toast for the rest of the year!
regulatory standards bill in a nutshell
It seeks to limit future lawmakers from introducing what Seymour considers unnecessary red tape into legislation, prioritising private property rights.
"The Regulatory Standards Bill has passed with the backing of the coalition parties.
National and New Zealand First agreed to pass the bill into law as part of their coalition agreements with ACT.
The bill has faced fierce pushback from the public, with more than 98 percent of public submissions opposed."

Parliamentary supremacy at its most antidemocratic. In 2026 I will vote for a party that makes scrapping it a bottom line.
NZ First rose to oppose neoliberal reforms. Now, by supporting the Regulatory Standards Bill, they risk entrenching them — handing Act new powers, weakening Parliament, and undermining New Zealand’s democracy.
While the Deputy Prime Minister and other advocates continue to argue this bill is simply a technical measure, aimed at smoothing the legislative process, this is clearly not the case.
No political party in a coalition would threaten to bring down the Government over a trivial matter of that kind.
