#Spotify's #business.relies on #VC's sloshin in money because #MusicLicensing is so expensive that they can't make profit that way, whereas #Podcasts don't usually suffer from that problem as they are made once and not subject to #Royalities Schemes that demand payment each time something is played again...

That's why Spotify is doubling-down on hosting shitheads like #JoeRogan: It's a one-time investment that generates perpetual #AdRevenue and even if they do #playback-based #payouts at all, you can be assured it'll be a way, way lower rate than for #music.
