The real problem is the sequels. A few decades later & the 1st Order has nearly destroyed the New Republic. This is necessary to make the Resistance scrappy underdogs fighting an impossible uphill battle. It's baked into the formulaic narratives.

Mijn oude liefde voor Star Wars en in het bijzonder de films die uitkwamen toen ik een basisscholier was (Empire Strikes Back en Return of the Jedi) kwam mooi van pas: deze AT-ST staat ergens op een kastje in mijn werkkamer. Met wat van de stormtroopers en biker scouts (zoals die stormtroopers genoemd wordt die op deze foto in dat apparaat zit).
