This is where we post about Cycliway 4, the segregated route from London Bridge to Woolwich. Below is the draft response to the latest proposed changes from Southwark Council New consultation on changes on Lower Road Tell Southwark Council: Make the Lower Road cycle scheme permanent Southwark Cyclists recommended response to Lower Road Consultation https://engage.southwark.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/lower-road-safety-improvements...
Seem to be a lot of bust water mains in South London all of a sudden, but I'm sure our privatised infrastructure is ready for Climate Change, for sure, the Shareholders wouldn't let us down? /s

Detail from a #bascule #bridge that was once part of the Surrey Commercial Docks in #Rotherhithe S #London. It's very #red.
Here's a quick render of a 3D model I worked on for The Last Day of Rain (my science-fiction graphic novel in progress).
The style is very different from what it will look like in the comic, but I had a lot of fun experimenting!
OverviewCycleway 62 has been developed by TfL in partnership with Southwark Council to provide a new cycle route connecting Rotherhithe and Peckham. Southwark Council will be building the majority of the cycleway and we will be building the southern section of the route on Ilderton Road and across Old Kent Road. It will have a new two-way segregated cycle track, before intersecting with Old Kent Road where the route crosses over into Brimmington Park. The purpose of the schemeWe have developed a scheme to accommodate Cycleway 62 at the Ilderton Road/Old Kent Road junction. This means that the signalled junction will provide a movement for cyclists between Brimmington Park and Ilderton Road across Old Kent Road. There will be no other changes to the operation of this junction. We will be building:A new two-way cycle track on part of Ilderton Road which will link with Cycleway 62New cycle crossing on Old Kent Road which will allow cyclists to safely travel from Brimmington Park to Ilderton Road. This new cycle movement will be signal controlled and operate within the existing junction configuration.New signal phasing which will increase the overall green time for pedestrians to cross the junctionThere will be no changes to the numbers of lanes along the Old Kent Road. Access will be retained to the vehicle forecourt on Ilderton Road via a crossover on the proposed two-way cycle track. Goals of the scheme:Green Link: A cycling route that connects parks and green spaces Promotion of cycling: The plan promotes cycling as a way to reduce air and noise pollution Network: Create a network of safe and accessible streets and routes for everyone Health: Make cycling a healthy choice for people to get around
Aye, sure you'll clean the contaminants up before building, Capitalists are so considerate like that and would never lie or cheat...
