Die musikalischen Expertise in der Komposition und in der Darbietung von Dio als Sänger, Blackmore's Gitarrenspiel und Powell als Taktgeber, dazu die Beiträge der kongeniealen "Hired Guns" Carey (Keys) und Baines (Bass) machen die Aufnahme schon alleine auffällig.
Dazu kommt der organische und der voluminös Klang der Aufnahme.
Aber diese Multiplikatoren sind es nicht allein, die 49 Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung [und einige Jahrzehnte vergessen in meinen Plattenschrank] dafür sorgen, das mich die Musik packt.
Die vier Seiten des Doppelvinyl dampft vor Atmosphäre wenn die Nadel aufsetzt.
In diesen Moment gibt der Hörer am Eingang die Karte ab und drückt die schwere Tür zum Konzertsaal auf.
Es empfängt ihn satte Lautstärke und ein frenetisches Publikum.
Da ist die Atmosphäre welches den Geist des Metals gebiert. Die Leidenschaft von den Musikern verbindet sich mit dem des Publikums.
