Donncha's exasperated tone, set both of us off. Fresh peals of laughter echoed around the clearing. Leaning on each other in our mirth, we hobbled through the snow, back toward my idyllic castle. Never did I think that Lady Emerald and I would find something in common to laugh over.

I acquiesce without a word with Donncha's urging. There are only a few things I’ve found that spook my protector, dragons and werewolves. Neither of which I'm prepared to encounter tonight. As soon as the solarium door clicks closed, I breathe a sigh of relief. Neither monster will attack my castle.

"Absolutely not. My grandmother was a monster. The only disturbing thoughts I’ve had about your grandson are of the salacious type." I say winking at Donncha, who rolls his eyes at my silliness.

The gentle plucking at my grandmother's long length chain of gold and jewels that I have worn since her death, draws my attention to the spritely witch.

The liquid causes the snow and ground underneath, to hiss and steam. Nervous, I step back, not eager to interrupt the sacrosanct spell Donncha was working.
