In my forthcoming novel, Aether and Ego, they leave Earth in 1821 and because they didn't have the technology at the time to be absolutely air-tight, Charles Babbage invents the "airator." When the one in her room stops ticking, the silence wakes her, and she goes downstairs to find Mr. Collins talking to her mother about courting Jane. People who know the original will remember this scene, but it all happens differently in my version.

Excited to turn this bit of wooden clockwork into an airator - a fabulous prop for readings!

With the omega wheel and the landscape display orientation it makes me think this phone was meant to be the original "iPod phone". Sadly it arrived waaaaaay too late to the party.

Eldest & I finished their #Rokr Mechanical Music Box (shortly before they turn 9), doing about an hour or so each day over the last week of summer holidays.

The box does suggest 14+ which might be fair for a solo project - this was fiddly, but little hands could be an advantage. This was an ambitious Christmas present, but enjoyable!

This is the pinball machine and I am trying to take it slowly (I always TRY and take them slowly) because it cost a LOT of money and I want to maximise my enjoyment… but also because I will have to wire in electronic stuff to make the lights and scoring work and it will have to stand up to being played with by a 7 year old so I want to make sure the build is super solid! Haha!
