In a series of nine phone interviews about the #war in #Iran, #Trump gave nine different, vague answers that offered little insight about when the #WhiteHouse may actually end the war.
On Feb. 28, he said the war could be over in two or three days.
A day later, he told ABC that it would actually be four or five weeks, most likely.
On March 2, he told Jake Tapper that the US was “a little ahead of schedule” of its 4 week window.
But two days later, he told Time magazine it had “no time limits.”

#Trump has listed #Australia among the #allies he appears to be bitterly disappointed with, for not wanting to get involved with his #war against Iran.
In a social media post overnight the US president said his country “has been informed by most of our #NATO ‘allies’ that they don’t want to get involved … despite the fact that almost every country strongly agreed with what we are doing”.
“I am not surprised by their action,” he said, because he always considered #NATO a “one way street – we will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, in particular, in a time of need”.
The president wrote:
“Because of the fact that we have had such military success [against Iran], we no longer ‘need’ or desire the NATO countries’ assistance – we never did!
Likewise, #Japan, #Australia, or #SouthKorea.
In fact, speaking as president of the #UnitedStates of #America, by far the most powerful country anywhere in the world, we do not need the help of anyone!”
It is unclear whether he has asked for assistance from Australia. On Tuesday the deputy prime minister, Richard Marles, said Australia had not received any formal request for help in the #StraitOfHormuz.

“I do believe I’ll [have] the honor of taking Cuba,” #Trump told reporters Monday afternoon.
Asked whether this meant #diplomacy or #militaryaction, he said: “Taking Cuba in some form, whether I free it, take it, I can do anything I want.”
Cuba’s energy ministry on Monday afternoon reported a “total disconnection” of the country’s national electric system and said it was investigating the cause. Within a couple hours, service in some areas was coming back online, the ministry said.
Since capturing #Venezuelan strongman #NicolásMaduro in January and asserting new influence in #Caracas, Trump has hinted repeatedly that Cuba would be next.
His attempt to strangle the country, denying energy on top of the 65-year U.S. #embargo on most #trade, appears to be working: President Miguel Díaz-Canel said Friday that no fuel had entered for three months.
Trump told reporters Sunday that his government was “talking to Cuba, but we’re going to do #Iran before Cuba.” The U.S.-Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic has entered its third week.
