The alt bird of the day theme on BlueSky is robins. Here is an American one that stopped by hoping to find worms.

I should try to find the European robins I’ve seen but it would be a massive undertaking.

Robins are the loveliest birds, taken for granted because they are so common.

We get a bedtime chorus and a morning chorus, singing their little hearts out.

For today's #BirdOfTheDay alternative theme #Robin. Here is a "Robin in the rain, what a saucy fellow. Robin in the rain, mind your socks of yellow." #Robins #birds #nature #birdphotography #ECK #Birdlife #Ontario #Canada
I have seen my robin friends around for a few weeks, but was devastated that they didn’t seem to be nest building on our property. Since we moved in, we have had a nest in our deck eaves every year from some generation of this family. Today I went out to take out the compost and found this!!! Can’t wait for baby robins!!

@ShutterRatata great photo.#Robins (#Erithacus #rubecula, #Muscicapidae) are endearing to us, partly due to their short #flightdistance. Combined with their attractive #appearance, they evoke positive associations in us. Therefore, they e.g. play a role in #culturaltraditions (Christian legends). They have twice been #BirdoftheYear in Germany. In 1963, robins were the first animal, in which the presence of a #magneticsense (#orientation via Earth's #magneticfield) was proven. Text: S.F.Wirth
