"Sean Plunket ... also had NZ First leader Winston Peters on, and he said the move to regulate online content was 'bordering on fascist', and called for the [Broadcasting Standards Authority] agency to be abolished."

My knee-jerk reaction is people often know their neighbours. So given Dogwhistle Peters has been bordering on fascism for years, he'd know
But seriously ...

"[ACC] now accepts Mr Buxton has a moderate-to-severe brain injury. But says it's still coded as "mild or other" in its internal system, due to 'coding limitations'. Mr Buxton says this impacts the care he receives, and he wants it fixed."
Fair enough too, this is literally "computer says no"! It's so many levels of unacceptable I just don't have the words.
Won't somebody rid us of these turbulent offshore-hosted proprietary systems?
"When ad spend on media peaked 20 years ago, advertising accounted for 1.25% of our entire GDP. But now, in this increasingly digital days, it's around 0.75%."
#ColinPeacock, 2026
So what does this tell us? What all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the big DataFarms hoovering up most of the remaining ad spend obscures or avoid admitting;
Advertising is a dying industry. Has been since the net went mainstream.

The bulk of the big money advertisers spent in our media goes offshore to big online operators. What's the future for the ad industry here? Also: mixed messages about when the war will end in Iran, and a startling scandal in the Chathams that hit the headlines too late.
I had the displeasure of listening to #RNZ this morning as I had to drive my wife to work in her car which was tuned to RNZ.
The misinformation and manufacturing of consent for the illegal US Israeli war against Iran was shocking.
I know RNZ has gone down hill but I found the blatant disregard of context quite disturbing, particularly considering this is our #NZPol funded national media.
RNZ morning report announced that there were concerns about Iran threatening to bomb US universities in ME. I was waiting for RNZ to explain why Iran had made these threats but nothing.
Sadly I have again been reminded to boycott western media complicit with manufacturing consent for war crimes and genocide.

Isn't it ironic when you've just posted a #RNZ story about #NZFirst wanting to open up #Aotearoa #NewZealand conservation land to allow the US industrial military complex access and permission to mine for rare earth minerals needed for weapons and ammunition of war, when a video about US smuggling rare earth minerals out of #China appears in your YouTube feed.
And this corrupt #NZPol govt expects NZers to trust these war criminals?

"As for the government, the plan is now clearer, and they're spending less than ... might have been expected under Labour."

I'm sorry, what?
Hasn't your colleague at TVNZ, Jack Tame, reported figures that show NatACT First spending and borrowing *more* than Labour, while *not* governing through a disease pandemic?! Instead giving away huge wads of public money to landlords, corporations, and white elephant projects
