The #46021a HP keyboard with its #HIL interface and #SDL type a connectors has arrived! Definitely needs some cleaning.
Now to contemplate butchering an #RJ11 till it fits the Type a SDL plug for 40 hours or to just buy the SDL plugs for 40 euros.
Buying the SDL plugs is only marginally better as I will have to manually force the crimps down on the connector.
EDIT: All gone!
#Free to a good home: Twenty Farallon PhoneNET Plus transceivers. I'm giving these away in fives, shipped via USPS flat rate.

Yay - pay off. Some tools you grudgingly buy, unsure they'll get much use beyond a current project. A cpl of years ago I grudginly bought a proper crimping tool (abandoned the ol' needle-nose and screwdriver-blade technique, and associated injuries).
Now wiring VoIP #RJ11 jacks I noted the wire colours in one weren't consistent, and then noted the contacts were dead too. The crimping tool made a fiddly job just a few seconds work. Glad to have had the tool on hand! Pay off!
Did you know that #RJ11 connectors come in left and right chiralities – i.e., the second row of pins is either shifted to the left or to the right? Of course, the #macintosh Plus #clone uses the less common variety used in the grey connector on the right, which I had to salvage from an old phone...
It's very different in the world outwith BT, which you have barely touched upon. #VirginMedia's cable modems don't need add-ons, as the ones that have been rolled out for years now have #RJ11 sockets.
And lack of pulse dial as a misfeature is a bit of a stretch. I haven't needed pulse dialling for any of my CPE since the 1980s. I even had a BT-to-RJ11 adapter ready from the 1990s.
The major problem is the lack of 999 service in a power outage.
