Yum new #RISC_V tech approaching #XuanTie announced their new CPU core the C950 not sure I buy the "Zen" performance they claim but it will be a big bump into the right direction for sure, looking forward to the first board to play with it.

As a kid i dreamed of ALL THE tech and what could be. New stuff always excited me but these days it's just dire, the only thing in recent years that brought back some joy was #VR and #RISC_V but everything else coming out, I just wonder how big tech will use it to fuck us up even more...

And as kid I would have also never dreamed that things like a 21 years old #HPUX #Unix workstation would help me stay sane and fill me with true wonder instead.

@jnsgruk @popey No self-3D-printing required. There is a case from CoolerMaster which fits a @frameworkcomputer 13 motherboard so that you can use it like a PC.

I got a (now older) RISC-V motherboard from @deepcomputingio 's CEO Yuning Liang on FOSDEM 2025 for testing printing on RISC-V and I got it in such a case.

The case has Wi-Fi antennas (with adapter to connect to the board), VESA (100 mm) mount, stand.

No RISC(V), no fun!

Decided to dig out my Lichee Pi 4A and update it's software (big pain in the ass) to see how much it has grown, way more snappier then I remember, which is still painfully slow but at least faster then the Starfive Vision 2. USB is a bit iffy but that was mentioned.

SpacemiT K3 “16-core” RISC-V SoC system information and (early) benchmarks

SpacemiT K3 is an upcoming RVA23-compliant 64-bit RISC-V processor based on X100 cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz. So far, we had limited information, but SpacemiT gave remote access to one SpacemiT K3-powered server to Sander, and he was kind enough to share some system information and early benchmarks.
