#Decomposing #deadwood is a #biodiversityhotspot; many small #organisms are either direct #decomposers or closely ecologically related to these primary decomposers. This #riparianforest in Saarland, #Germany, remains partly uncontrolled and is thus full of deadwood in different stages of decomposition. The authors T. Löfroth et al. (2023) studied #factors such as #globalwarming negatively affecting deadwood #ecosystems.
