The body’s metabolic rhythm
(from the writing-drawing-books)

Nourished by everything that enters the body from outside and (what is unusable) leaves the body via the mouth and anus, also through speech and wind.

You choose, and others choose for you, what food enters your body. Nourishing all cells, and thus all organs, tissues, muscles and bones.
Our brains, which process emotions, think in language, and control themselves whilst sending signals to the whole body, need both physically digestible and mentally digestible food.

What causes the food and experiences that nourish us? In our bodies, in our behaviour, in our use of language, in our thinking?
What causes our bodies, our behaviour, our use of language, our thinking?
How do we nourish one another?
Once We Were One is a work of art by Femmy Otten, which I saw in the Rijksmuseum.
I nourish myself by letting the sculpture work on me from all angles.
See the posture, the wood and the coarse and fine craftsmanship.
See the details, the vulva, the clitoris, the scrotum with the penis tied like a knot on the head.
A sense of awe, along with associations with images from classical antiquity, flows into my body.
Healthy food! says my sense of happiness!
