tweakOh boy. I won my table at #RiichiMahjong tonight but I almost REALLY won with a tanki Suuankou (a rare double yakuman). Four concealed triplets and I was waiting on the last tile to make a pair of tiles. Would’ve been worth 96,000 points (each player starts the game with 30,000)!! The player across from me went out first! 😫😂🤯 Fun times though.

My hobbies include playing mahjong -despite not being very good at it-, coding more specifically anything to do with p2p software and networking and recently dipping my toes in freebsd. We're having a club tournament today, and I'm not doing great
In the last game I went for a yakuless tenpai and missed a 2000 points chankan, because I forgot that was a thing 
(It went to a draw, and I was the only one tenpai, so I ended up getting more points, but still)
I think this needs said one more time:
you don’t need to pay to play mahjong.
There are clubs and meetups all around that would be happy to have you join them, whatever flavor you enjoy (American, Riichi, Chinese). You don’t have to buy a seat or be part of a special society. Just play!
