This week's #TuneTuesday theme is #TempleAndChurch. Lots of great records to choose from, but I'm going with this one:
Ann Cole with the Suburbans: In the Chapel (1956)

The song was written by David Clowney (who was better-known as Dave "Baby" Cortez) and Larry Coleman. The original Baton Records single made it to #14 on the Billboard R&B chart in late January, 1957. The flip side, "Each Day", was also quite popular and is a great record as well.
I just wrote a long article on Ann Cole (1934-1986, real name: Cynthia Coleman), which will be coming out next month in the Blues News magazine (https://www.bluesnews.fi/en/magazine/). One of my main sources was Marv Goldberg, who has done extensive research on Cole's career:
