Red velvet and trimming for reupholstering a chair, a family heirloom I was gifted recently.
Also got some burgundy bias tape to use with offspring no.2's cycle pannier/computer bag we're making.

Re-upholstered our couch. The old fabric was disintegrating. And the seat cushion was a bit too thin. Replaced the cushion with a 7" thick bunk bed mattress. Sewed a new cover for the seat with a zipper along the back and part of the side for easy cleaning. Stapled on new upholstery on the back rest and finished it off with newly sewn piping.
Getting closer. Learning things.... 1. Could have gone for a softer foam, got what people were recommending for Eames restorations, but this is NOT an Eames. It will be fine, but there is a difference. That is why the buttons aren't making the same pressure pattern...
2. Snap buttons don't work. Just sewing vinyl over the old ones and a couple of those, works a lot better.
3. Head foam needs to be recut, too lumpy. Really would have been easier to buy thinner foam to match the middle and head sections. Trying to trim foam thinner is problematic. Bought 5 inch foam to match the seat, but need 2 inch foam for the middle and top.
