It took fifteen (15) minutes for me to get a solo elevator to the top of seven (7) world trade #today. Twelve (12) elevators, not even close to my record, 23 to go up solo and 8 to go down.
Was just in time for my meeting.

Possibility of a summer surge, due to the new/ old "cicada" variant.

Alabama, Oklahoma, & South Carolina [chart] had worst instances of under-estimated/ reported COVID deaths. Short article (big study) says people with lower income, people with less education, & Hispanics were among the groups most affected.
USA total Covid deaths just in 2020, '21, were actually close to one million, the biggest such toll in modern history.

Big #study out Mar 4th, w/ 375K+ #Covid #cases tracked - they call it "post-COVID-19 syndrome" a.k.a. Long-COVID. Women continue to get it more than men: females= 56.8%; males= 43.8%.
Among #LongCOVID #symptoms, they break down as: Pulmonary 22.4%, neurological 14.6%, fatigue 13.5%, digestion 12.5%, fever 11.5%, and although #cognitive (#BrainFog) was only 3.7%, it showed the greatest persistence.

This is so insane though. I don’t have to wear a mask but if I do I have to wear one of theirs to make sure mine is clean and effective?

I guess I understand from the perspective that if they make me wear a mask because I’m contagious they want to make sure it works, but if they’re not making me wear a mask it’s ridiculous that I have to wear two because I choose to wear one. But if I choose to not wear any that’s fine.

Dear geeks with huge #respirator I saw at previous #FOSDEM ! Would you be kind to make a BOF session or a hallway track on respirators?

- Why are there no transparent masks (with real health protection) which don't obstruct face?
- What are the best masks for speakers?
- Are the cartridge respirators better?
- Where's the sweet spot between protection and public engagement (not making wearer look like biohazard liquidator or specops)
- When open hardware respirators, produced at hackerspaces?
