Today we honor the experience, wisdom, and voices of our elders. This year’s theme, “Empowering Elderly Voices for an Inclusive Future,” reminds us to listen, include, and create opportunities so older adults can shape family, community, and public life.

Senior Citizens Day honors the lifetime contributions and wisdom of older adults while shining a light on urgent challenges they face, like isolation, limited healthcare access, and ageism. The 2025 theme, “Empowering Elderly Voices for an Inclusive Future,” calls for listening to seniors, removing barriers to participation, and making homes, services, and public spaces truly age‑friendly. Centering elder perspectives strengthens families, communities, and public policy, and prepares society for a rapidly aging world where dignity and inclusion are essential.
