Testimonials- Federal workers & Incoming federal workers impacted by cuts

This form allows you to contribute your personal story to the Federal Cuts Tracker Map. This form is for federal workers who have been fired or resigned since the beginning of the second Trump administration AND those who had offers of federal employment rescinded If you are a grant, loan, or benefit recipient who has lost access to necessary funds or services, email [email protected] for a different form. The goal of the Federal Cuts Tracker Map Project is to better inform the public about the impact firings, withdrawals of funding, and terminations of programs may have on everyday Americans. To do this, we must humanize the impacts of these changes on federal workers and those reliant on federal funding or programs. The Federal Cuts Tracker Map is an interactive visualization of firings, funding freezes, program closures, grant cancellations, and similar actions that will negatively impact Americans. There is a circle on our map for every story we collect. Once live (hopefully next week (3/4)), our platform will allow users to track and share information about federal budget cuts and firings, enabling individuals and organizations to stay informed about the impact of these decisions on their communities. Using the answers you provide, your story will be added to our map. We hope that amplifying your experience will educate the public about the importance of your work, the difficulties you are facing, and the ways in which the public will be harmed by your firing. Please only share what you are comfortable with. We appreciate that this is a terribly sensitive topic and time for many of you. Many of the questions below are optional. At a minimum for coding to the map, we need your location (or the location of your work), the agency you worked for, and a description of your work Your story will be added to the map anonymously on a rolling basis. Thank you for your service and thank you for sharing your story. Please send questions to [email protected]

The White House says it has #rescinded a memo authorising a federal #freeze on hundreds of billions of dollars in #grants & #loans, which sparked widespread panic among millions of people who rely on government aid.

It comes after a judge temporarily halted the order on Tuesday, only hours after it was signed by #Trump & the memo was issued by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Show me the money (or at least where it came from) -- NSA funding of Mathematics

By Tarik Aougab and Marissa Loving

We dedicated several weeks during one of the busiest times of the year (towards the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester) to crafting a carefully written proposal for an undergraduate #summer #research experience at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (#ICERM).

After initially accepting our proposal, ICERM #rescinded their acceptance when we said that we were not comfortable with the program being partially funded by the National Security Agency (#NSA).

We don’t want others to waste the same valuable time and effort that we did and so we’re writing this as both a public service announcement and a warning.
