The current Iowa legislature is taking away all freedoms "to protect children." But as mental health counselors, we know they are causing irreparable harm to children by denying them to be who they are, or see themselves in a book, or be safe from gun violence, or have their public schools funded, etc. Part of me wants to move to a blue state, a state where the SAIGE community is protected, diversity is celebrated, reproductive healthcare is safe and legal.
