Visiting family this December, and disappointed that renting a bicycle for a couple of weeks is comparable to the price of renting a car worth ~30 times more.
I understand a premium as it still takes the same staff time to facilitate the transaction as at a rental car company.
Might just go to Walmart, then lean the cheap bike against a tree with a "free" sign on it when I leave.
