El Salón del Automóvil de Ginebra ha reabierto sus puertas, y con ellas también se ha abierto ya el sobre del ganador del Coche del Año 2024 en Europa. La marca del Rombo se ha llevado el gato al agua con el nuevo Renault Scenic. El SUV eléctrico francés ha convencido al jurado y superando a sus rivales con más de 300 puntos.
Filled 0,7l of #antifreeze and 2,5l of water until the reservoir reached and stayed at "max" while idling (until thermostat opened). Not exactly "-20°C" mixture, more like -10°C but good enough for now.
Good: no obvious leaks = I can drive short distances.
Bad: no obvious leaks = no simple fix.
Good: The timing belt needs replacement soon anyway and this requires taking the whole front of the car apart so at least this is required only once, now.

Heating was working without issues two days ago.
Surprize coolant leak - yay!
Is it a hose? Is it the radiator? Is the engine toast?
The car was cheap and in relatively good condition. It was driven <10000 km in the last 7 years, so got an oil change and Inspection every ~1500km.
Its surprising how good and reliable my 27 year old #vwgolf works vs. this 17 year old #renaultscenic . I bouht the #vwgolf at age ~23 years with ~35000km and all sorts of plastic parts, ignition coil, light bulbs and other stuff failed shortly after, just due to age. Now the #renaultscenic goes through the same process... Lets hope this phase of finding out what parts did not age well will not lead to an endless rabbit hole or wasted time/money. After all, both cars were 1st owner, garage cars.

This radio never saw a CD until now. Unsurprisingly, the mechanism to eject the CD is broken ( rattle noise and no movement). I'll disassemle the drive and check if I can fix it, but a modern #headunit that supports things like bluetooth would be great.
