Il Tempo: Giornata per le vittime del terrorismo. Meloni: "Non dimenticare è un dovere”

"Il 9 maggio si celebra il Giorno della Memoria dedicato alle vittime del terrorismo. In questa data, nel 1978, veniva ritrovato il corpo di Aldo Moro, assassinato dalle Brigate Rosse. Lo stesso giorno in cui perdeva la vita per mano mafiosa Peppino Impastato, dopo le sue denunce contro Cosa nostra. E nel 2021 Rosario Livatino, magistrato ucciso dalla Stidda, veniva proclamato beato. Oggi il nostro pensiero va a loro e a tutte le vittime di ogni forma di terrorismo. Non dimenticare è un dovere: per onorare chi ha sacrificato la vita per la libertà, per rispetto della nostra storia e per difendere ogni giorno la democrazia". Con queste parole scritte in un post su X, la presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha omaggiato il ricordo delle vittime del terrorismo nel giorno dedicato alla loro memoria. Una data a cui "bisogna avvicinarsi in punta di piedi" per il presidente del Senato, La Russa, che ha poi dedicato un pensiero anche ai familiari delle vittime che sono "rimasti privi dell'affetto per i loro parenti". Stamattina, il presidente della Repubblica, Sergio Mattarella, si è recato in Via Caetani a Roma per deporre una corona di fiori sotto la lapide dedicata ad Aldo Moro, in occasione del quarantottesimo anniversario della sua uccisione da parte delle Brigate Rosse. In quella via, il suo corpo esanime venne ritrovato nel bagagliaio di una Renault 4 color rosso.
Presso il Senato della Repubblica si sono poi svolte le commemorazioni della giornata, iniziate con l'inno di Mameli cantato dal coro degli studenti del Liceo Statale 'Alessandro Manzoni' di Latina. La Russa ha messo in guardia sull'attualità del fenomeno terroristico, un pericolo "sempre in agguato", estendendo la riflessione "alle tante nuove insidie che corrono nel mondo digitale, dove prevalgono pericolosi linguaggi di odio e divisione". E ha aggiunto:" "Pericoli che non dobbiamo sottovalutare, perché il terrorismo non cerca solo il bersaglio umano. Il terrorismo cerca anche di avvelenare il pensiero e di trasformare le piazze in trincee di intolleranza: perché se il dissenso è un respiro di libertà, la violenza ne è la sua negazione piu' brutale". La cerimonia si è conclusa con l'esecuzione dell'Inno europeo da parte del coro degli studenti del Liceo statale "Alessandro Manzoni" di Latina.

The ceremony concluded with the performance of the European Anthem by the choir of the Alessandro Manzoni State High School in Latina.
