Tried on my new Venetian 16th century gown. Some things could be better, but in most aspects I am happy with it.
The sleeves that I pieced together from scraps, on the other hand don't work at all. Luckily I have plain velvet in the same colour to make sleeves. And the sleeves don't really have to match either.
I also just realised that the shift is 25 years old this year.

Trying on my 16th century Venetian gown.
I needed to try it on before finishing the inside, so this is not how I will lace it in the end. If you look at art from the period, the ties are parallell, and I have an idea about how to fix that.
I am currently wearing my 18th century shift, because it was easy to reach.
