Photos from this weekend's event with the Society for Creative Anachronism. In the outskirts of Hamburg. I wore my 16th century Italian gown during the day

Aside from partying and studying 18th century probate inventories I have photographed and made a page for my newest 16th century Venetian gown in my blog.

My next historical project is a 16th century Venetian gown.
My inspiration is the 3rd picture, showing a woman in a green dress with sleeves with cut out pattern.
I am going to use green cotton velvet; curtains from a charity shop. And, as the 1st image shows, I am trying out varying methods to finish the edges, on velvet scraps.

Nothing makes me feel so pretty as a good photo shoot in historical costume. This is a 1550s Venetian outfit. I originally made it to wear at our baronial investiture (SCA) in March, but ended up in the kitchen instead. And this is not a gown for kitchen duty 😉. #sca #historicalcostuming #renaissancefashion #sewing
