Installed Regolith Linux on top of Debian. I've got Debian's lovely gnome desktop if I want it, but also, integrated with its guts, a tiling window manager - the much beloved i3wm - with lots of affordances to make it accessible to people who don't want to have to commit every keyboard shortcut to memory before they can actually use their system. Very neat. Of course I probably will just use gnome a lot anyway.
#TellFedi there is a #regolithlinux repo with wayland support!
Best news, although I'm not sure if I will pull through the installation. Anyone using it? (Probably me in a few days)
I've been using regolith linux in my main pc for a week or so... Just a couple of minor issues, nothing important. But the point is that even being a good option in many senses my customized gnome fulfills all my present needs. I will still use i3wm in my old laptop tho.
So it seems I'm unintentionally doing #distrohopping right now.
Just wanted a clean reinstall with full-disk-encryption before going to #36c3.
Thought I'd use #regolithlinux (Ubuntu preconfigured with #i3wm) but it felt extremely slow. Plus I don't really want something Ubuntu based. I like "sane defaults" and it looks great out of the box.
Enjoying #regolithlinux. It's an easy way to try the i3 tiling window manager
