@ascentale @bikemonterey #BikeNite A2 I have experimented with a solar panel on the roof of the bakfiets, though not in-motion since I would like to build it onto a frame which keeps it from flexing. The 100W panel produces maybe 60W in ideal conditions, and probably doesn't sustain the battery use for long journeys, but it would extend the range of a day around town when it is parked for several hours at a time. But, #regenBraking adds ~20% to the range in hilly areas

What's it like going down S Corbett with about 500W #regenBraking? (I'm trying to save brake pads+rims but not sure if my battery can handle more than this. Sometimes the baserunner cuts out here if I have a stoker on the way down.) #GrinMAC #eBikes #BikeTooter
