The pilot GeoLabel from @unifreiburg presented at #NFDI4EarthPlenary2025 takes interactive annotations of geospatial data beyond fixed tiles to labeling the entire dataset + sampling with #AI.
Features are soon to be integrated and published in https://deadtrees.earth/ - an open database for accessing, contributing, analyzing, and visualizing remote sensing-based tree mortality data with crowdsourced reference data (RGB) by drones.

Within data management, two terms often surface in discussions— 𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 and 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢.
While both play essential roles in organizing, describing, and governing data, they are distinct in their purpose, scope, and usage.
To use them effectively, it’s crucial to understand their differences and how they contribute to a robust data ecosystem: https://www.foxconsulting.co/post/metadata-vs-reference-data-understanding-the-key-differences
Are you leveraging both #metadata and #referencedata effectively? We can help you recognize their unique roles!

The Food Standards Agency's code registry data service is built upon the UKGovLD linked data registry open source codebase that we support.
For more on that see: https://www.epimorphics.com/projects/registry-core/

The Linked Data Registry is an open source implementation of the Linked Data Registry specification - that we we helped to develop as a contribution to the UK Government Linked Data Working Group (UKGovLD). This Registry core repository is the primary base for UKGovLD registry implementations and is maintained active codebase for the registry, used buy ourselves and a number of other organisations
We’ve updated the Food Standards Agency’s code registry data service with some UI and backend improvements.
For an intro to the project see: https://www.epimorphics.com/projects/fsa-codes

Like many organisations, and especially public bodies, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) manages and maintains a growing set of codelists, controlled vocabularies and other data standards in support of its own activities. This reference data is also used to support a broader ecosystem of Local Authorities and other actors that provide and exchange data related to food and feed safety. We worked with the FSA to design, build and run a linked data registry service that supports the FSA in managing their codelists and other critical reference data.
We're going to #TC45, the conference that joins the dots between translation and computing #LangTech, in Luxembourg.
Glad some of our experts talking part such as Denis Dechandon, Lucy Wahlain and Aniko Gerencser, specialists in #Multilingual #ReferenceData.

🔎What are #ReferenceData?
All organisations need reference data to make their information and reporting systems, and ultimately their policies, work.
