I found another #torchlily - some call it #redhotpoker and it’s on the farm!

This is growing happpily in #Bendigo #Australia and is vibrant in an otherwise traditional #Australian #bush setting

The oranges and yellows are #beautiful and they stand out against the surrounding shades of browns and greens.

Kniphofia uvaria is also known as tritomea, torch lily, or #redhotpoker … for obvious reasons.

It originates from the Cape Province of South Africa and has been introduced into many parts of the world (ie in non-native environments).

As such, it is now regarded as an environmental weed in these locations, spreading into natural areas, where it can grow in thick clumps and threaten sensitive ecosystems.

This one however, in #Bendigo #Australia appears to be ‘reigned in’ and well under control!

Red-hot poker (Kniphofia) that was still flowering in my garden when the first snow fell back in early November.
