The day has involved meltdowns (both of us) burnt fingers (me), very short nap, incidents with poop, paint, water, sand (all her) being scratched, having hair pulled, dehydration (all me) I'm at such a level of overwhelm that I've asked her Dad to pick us both up and take us to McDonald's đ
much respect to the single mums, this is painful - every prospective parent should have to do this day before having kids.#rebelparent #parenting
.. and, of course, if your dynamic with your partner is one where you consensually give up a lot of control, then parenthood can really fuck you up, cos it's difficult (at least for me) to code switch between 'dependent sub' mode and 'capable caregiver'. I'm working on that part cos I really miss it. 2/2
