Well I guess I’m really in for it now. Picked up a new Spektrum radio. These radios can basically do all of the Horizon Hobby vehicles plus any regular Spektrum receivers.

Spent last night configuring the radio for my Arrma Kraton Mini and my oooold Traxxas Slash LCG RWD short course truck. Slash had to get a new receiver since the one it had was for a different radio system.

I also improved the geometry of the front end of the Slash and while working on it, remembering how much I used to love@this hobby. But I also wanna keep it simple.

Hi Fediverse!

I've started doing some, er, questionable modifications to toys and RC cars.

Yeah, I will get a Peertube instance up and running eventually, but the box my GotoSocial instance is on is already running low on memory...

Any ideas for future projects? I plan on winterizing an RC car (with big paddle tires and a sealed body), adding 3D printed tank tracks to the toy in the video, adding cameras to some RC cars, and adding a far-too-powerful brushless motor to my 1994 Tamiya rally car too (and setting up Peertube, and upgrading GotoSocial from v19), but other suggestions are appreciated!

Updating my very old #tamiya #ta02 to using modern components.

Changing out the AM receiver for a new #elrs one. It is crazy how small the new digital hardware is.

Next up, replacing the old mechanical speed controller with an electronic one.
