While there are some questionable aspects that I talked about before (a lot of fighting to “win” someone by beating someone else), the character dynamics work and make this a fun show even today.
And I really like the choice of colors in the remake, everything looks really vibrant and nice.
Good show to keep watching.

Kodashi ist eine amüsante Villainess und noch amüsanter Rivalin für Akane wenn es um Ranmas Herz geht.
G-NitroCurrently watching episode 6 of Ranma (2024), and the story is moving along so much faster than the original anime. Kodachi shows up in this episode, while in the original she didn't show up until episode 11.
They definitely are cutting out most of the anime only content from the original.
New anime: we started the #Ranma12 remake. First of all, I appreciate how they didn’t try to move this to a contemporary setting like a lot of remakes or first time anime based on older manga.
And then I have to say that the slapstick humor kind of works for me. I can’t say that I was ever a huge Ranma fan, but I like it. The characters are what makes it live, and although they’re not terribly nuanced, there’s already a few things in the first episode that I hadn’t remembered and that I like quite much, like Akane genuinely trying to get along with (female) Ranma and him actually being insecure about his situation. I think we’ll keep watching this.
