What is Ranked Choice Voting?

Why do we focus so much on #RankedChoiceVoting?
RCV is one innovative solution among many that upgrade our democracy for the twenty-first century. We focus on it because we believe it's the first step to fixing politics.

I think we can all dispense with the fiction that the separation of branches of government can overpower the collusion of partisanship. George Washington was right after all.
It follows, then, that a better system of government must weaken the strength of parties, by allowing minor parties to become competitive. I think that begins with #RankedChoiceVoting, which effectively undoes the natural game-theory tendency for two, and only two, very powerful parties to emerge.
What I would like to see next is the abolition of the Senate and the electoral college altogether, but that seems much less likely than first switching to RCV in the majority of states, or passing an amendment that permitted RCV in the way electoral college votes are counted.
If you voted for Donald Trump under the belief that he would increase 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 freedom (fortunately, I did not), it's safe to say that you were gravely mistaken. At least there was one candidate who seemed to genuinely care, despite his own party's leaders hating him—a long shot named Chase Oliver. Too bad we still do not have ranked-choice voting.

its mistake is failing to predict the power of political parties to override the separation of powers. that having to win a primary means the influence of a president can pressure most Congress critters of their party into going along with anything.
Keeping our electeds from violating the law is not supposed to require that enough of them are members of the other party. It obviously should for passing laws, but not maintaining the lawful structure of the government. End the duopoly.
