One group had pre-dinner drinks, fried rice, individual dishes and forks.
The other group had Jasmine tea, steamed rice, shared dishes and chopsticks.
It was instructive to see how differently to two groups were treated.

One of the worst experiences in my career was trying to teach a group of lawyers how to use the internet in 1995. Worst students ever.
I started listening to the Dos Game Club podcast episode about Wing Commander.
3 memories occurred. Seeing a preview of WC1 in ACE magazine and being sad it wasn't coming to Atari ST.
Watching a friend's WC3 promo CD, which had an out take reel from the live action filming. Tom Wilson is a pretty funny guy.
Getting WC4 DVD edition with my Creative Labs MPEG2 decoder card.
This meant my PC had two video pass-through cables. Video card ➡ 3Dfx card ➡ MPEG2 Card ➡ Monitor!
#RandomMemory: Having dinner at someone's house in #Portland in #1996, and them commenting on how the city was getting really expensive, housing-wise.
I have no idea how anyone affords to live there (or any similar popular/populous/coastal cities) today, except for the few wealthy ones.
20 years ago, I dislocated my shoulder taking out the trash (yeah, I know
)
I had a friend come pick me up and take me to the hospital and get it popped back into place. I had to take it easy for a while, and do physical therapy to get most of the strength and range of motion back (although it never fully recovered).
When I was giving my friend an update about a week later, he said, "Bless your heart!" and my brain kinda crashed for a moment, because it never occurred to me that the phrase could actually be used unironically and non-sarcastically. XD
#LivingInTheSouth, y'all. ;)
Around 10 years ago, I used a "correct horse battery staple"-style password generator to create my university password, and it gave me "Neologistic2twaddle!"
That still makes me smile.
I generally hate those bar candles — put an open flame next to possibly drunk people and hope for the best?
But one time on a cold winter night my friend and I were warming our hands over those before playing.
