not to encourage rampant consumerism in the fediverse, but can someone give me advice about getting a tablet?

I'm torn between something like an asus zenbook and the 5th g ipad

it'd mostly be for work stuff: looking at high-ish resolution images and pdfs and probably some notetaking; but maybe a game or two (Eternal, perhaps); I'd kind of like it to be a lightweight way to emulate a dual screen setup when I'm travelling or whatever

thoughts?
