New music out on my BandCamp at https://eccentric-gear.bandcamp.com !
Ragtime: Off the Beat (De-Mastered) features the same tunes as the original album, processed to simulate old dusty vinyl records for a vintage sound.
Ragtime: Off the Beat II and its de-mastered version are another album of lesser-known ragtime composers--a fun romp through history!
Share and enjoy :)

Musical Interlude: Modern composer William Bolcom is technically regarded as a modern classical musician, but his leanings are very much toward jazz. He created a cycle of piano rags that are charming works. The "Graceful Ghost Rag" is justly famous, and I'm sure I've featured it before, but here's another rag just as nice.
"The Last Rag," composed by William Bolcom, performed by Marc-André Hamelin (who I was lucky enough to catch live once)

Pianist/composer Buck Evans comments "uptempo 1914 version of Joplin's GLADIOLUS RAG as played in the actual era of it's composition, totally free of wine and cheese influences--as 'popular dance music' (what a concept!!!!)"

"Solace, Mexican Serenade" è un pezzo di Scott Joplin del 1909 ed ha un ritmo a metà strada tra tango ed habanera. Il più celebre autore di ragtime scriveva infatti anche altri tipi di musica, scrisse persino un'intera Opera.

To give you some idea of what I'm digitally performing right now, here's an original piano roll of Robert Compton's 1914 Cataract Rag:

I just rediscovered this gem: Cataract Rag by Robert Hampton (1914). Here's a YouTube link of a performance from a piano roll:

It's quite a piece. Virtuosic and evocative. Worth listening to, in my opinion.
