Radish is my favorite, feel good plant on the balcony.
Easy and quick to grow and it's delicious with sandwich or salad.
The #radish is a vegetable bursting with freshness and health benefits: light, crunchy and with a slightly spicy kick. It has a high water content (around 95%) and is low in calories (15–16 kcal per 100g). It is also a good source of fibre, vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants.
At our grocery store, these radishes arrive twice a week directly from our local garden. This proximity ensures that the radishes arrive fresh and full of flavour, just as nature intended.

`The word horseradish is attested in English from the 1590s. It combines the word horse (formerly used in a figurative sense to mean strong or coarse, as with archaic horsepistol and horselock) and the word radish`

"You want radish? I'll give you radish!"
And behold, there was Daikon.
(This, inspired by getting a daikon bigger than a cantaloupe in our farm share allotment.)
The first radish is up, it's a French breakfast heirloom. They were planted 13 days ago along with the sugar snap peas, arugula, spinach, beets, and other radish types.
There have been 58 (F) growing degree days based on a 43F base mean temp here this year, which is more of a fruit tree blossom thing at that base temp, but it's what I keep track of. Accumulated degrees above that daily mean temp base.

I think we all know what this country needs...
#UnsolicitedNoods! ...and also less fascism.
But today I can offer only noods. This morning's #ramen is joined by #kale, #broccoli, #avocado, #kelp, a tiny #radish, #sardines, and #scallions.
Keep your chin up y'all, lest the broth dribble down your face. It's a good posture suggestion in all kinds of contexts, really.
