The Wessex Convection Experiment (WesCon) have been launching #radiosondes apace over Southern England this afternoon.

I want to hunt #radiosondes but I'm in Scotland and the closest launch site is Newcastle over the border in England.

The FS Maria S. Merian completed the third and last crossing of the #ITCZ during the campaign MSM 114/2. During ten days, Julia Windmiller and Laura Köhler from the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology and Daria Paul and Lennéa Hayo from the University of Cologne sampled three vertically resolved profiles of the ITCZ with #radiosondes.

As a #weather and #radio enthusiast I like to receive and decode #radiosondes (weather balloons) and if they don’t land too far away I have been known to recover them! Wimo have an article about decoding them this week…
