Stimmung erzeugt. Die Podcastserie mit dem reißerischen Titel "Platzangst" gibt vor, Fakten hinter den Gefühlen am Stühlinger Kirchplatz in #Freiburg finden zu wollen, macht aber genau das Gegenteil. Ausführlich zu Wort kommt der mittlerweile aus dem geschiedene Ordnungsbürgermeister @freiburg Stefan Breiter, der erklärt, man müsse „sich den Platz zurückholen“. Dass er mit dieser Aussage #AfD - Funktionär Alexander Gauland kopierte und es sich um kaum versteckten #Rassismus handelte, war den Journalisten keinen Hinweis wert. Antiziganistische Aussagen einer Ärztin blieben unkommentiert stehen. Ein kritisches Hinterfragen der Kriminalitätsstatistiken, die die #Polizei durch ihre ständigen Großkontrollen teilweise selber in die Höhe treibt, unterbleibt weitestgehend. I was in #HMV on Oxford Street and I noticed the shop worker standing nearby.

That's fine, they're just keeping an eye on things.

But when I went to a different section, he followed me and stood next to me, pretending to look at the same DVD section and leant forward to carefully read some of the titles, deliberately making his presence known. He made it clear they were watching me.

I don't get any #RacialProfiling (at least I doubt I do) but I really feel this shitty treatment. By making it obvious they were watching me, they are telling me they think I'm a thief. They are telling me I don't look or behave in the right way to avoid suspicion and I'm not welcome in their store. They could stand back and keep and eye and that would be fine, but they didn't do that. they were sending a clear message.

The thing is, their shadowing stops you actually concentrating on browsing. They actually stop you from using their store properly. It's like they don't want people to browse.

And this is why I've decided to never buy from HMV again. I don't need them and they've told me they don't need me.

Mit einem Unterschied: Ich bin Kläger - die Bundespolizei ist Beklagte und muss sich verteidigen.
