I've never had much contact with my father's side of the family, so my paternal granddad (pictured) is particularly a mystery to me. I knew he was a maths teacher (and eventually high school principal), but I didn't know he had a BA and an MSc. Even before he enlisted, he'd spent four years as a civilian instructor for the #RAAF (air force) and army reserves. I knew he married a music teacher, but it turns out he also conducted the #ChartersTowers Municipal Choir and Orchestra. (2/3)

Two years I missed the RAAF flyover at the Brisbane march. Not because I wasn't there — because I was still searching for the jets when they'd passed. The lesson: choose your background first. Lock focus on the empty sky above a heritage roofline. When you hear the engines, don't search. Just shoot.

Vervolg van de #raaf - Corvus corax - van gisteren. Een röntgenfoto maakte zichtbaar waarom de vogel niet kon vliegen (zie ALT). Het dier wordt nu geopereerd. Wie dat wil kan aan de opvang doneren defugelhelling.nl
