La manip de la mort. Impossible de booter sur autre chose que linux Mint sur le #macbook_air (debian, devuan, MXlinux,...). Je comprends pas. Je tombe sur le menu #grub2 mais après il veut pas charger le kernel... (Problème avec initramfs) ?

Mais je veux autre chose.

Donc boot sur #linuxmint , installation de la distro, puis installation de #refind (sudo apt install refind) sur la partition ESP, redémarrage avec le support USB avec mon image ISO live #mxlinux avec persistance, et hop, ça marche.

Bon par contre pas encore essayé de l'installer sur le ssd.

Une autre idée serait #clonezilla avec une image déjà faite...

So. After deleting and rebuilding my `ESP`partition I don't even know how many times and trying out so many different ways of setting up either #rEFind or #GRUB and messing with the `mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset` files, I finally got my original #Arch partition and new #Artix partition booting.

I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to segregate the Arch and Artix boot loaders and initramfs. But since they appear to be the same, both being Arch under the hood...

Well. After like 3 or 4 failed attempts at installing #Artix, #FreeBSD installed on the first attempt. Struggled for a little trying to get #Grub to boot it. Switched to #rEFInd and booted right up.

I guess I'm trying out FreeBSD for now.

Recently we bought a used ThinkPad T530 for my partner, and I've put both Haiku and Linux Mint on it, dual booting with rEFInd. I'm quite happy with the result!

Also, while I do get some crashes in Haiku from time to time, it's way faster than Mint. 🍂

ISO copié avec la classique dd if= of= sur un HDD sata avec une interface sata/usb3, on boot avec et dans l'espace GUI on fait son installation comme une Linux. Disque dur HDD en sata, 8 go de DDR3, WIFI ok, carte réseaux pas encore testé. Environnement MATE.

Un deuxième poste, de marque DELL avec un i5, 16 go ddr4, sdd sata. Dual boot #refind avec #mxlinux environnement #xcfe et #nixos environnement #kde (j'ai une dent contre elleux pour leur complaisance avec les LLM). Pas de wifi, carte réseau et une carte graphique NVIDIA pas fonctionnelle pour l'instant.

Mit dieser Schwierigkeit hatte ich tatsächlich nicht gerechnet aber #GRUB muss ja in einem der beiden Modi starten, hier in #UEFI und dann wird das Umschalten in den #Legacy Modus als Sicherheitsrisiko betrachtet. Ich hatte gedacht, dass der MBR Start so simpel ist, das wird man schon irgendwie hinkriegen. Aber weder GRUB noch #rEFInd schaffen das, obwohl es #CSM gibt. Hier kommt dann aber auch die Lösung, total anders als gedacht: im UEFI des #T470 hat Lenovo sehr viele Bootoptionen eingetragen

Hintergründe und Icons können individuell nach eigenem Wunsch angepasst werden.

Die verschiedenen Themes verlangen eine individuelle Anpassung der "refind.conf" und Erstellung von verschiedenen Ordnern. Die zu erstellenden Ordner und Pfade stehen jeweils in der Datei "theme.conf"....
