You might have seen quantum trits, aka qutrits, in the news recently. These are 3-state systems akin to 2-state qubits. Like in the qubit situation, the 3 states of a qutrit are _orthogonal_.

In the 3-valued logic RM3, the three truth values are true, false, and a value that may be interpreted as both true and false. This seems to model quantum entanglement, not to mention wave particle duality, where a system can be in superposition of states. The third logical value, "both", is not orthogonal to true and false, rather it is a mixture of the two.

RM3 is a natural quantum logic.
