I think Terranigma might be a DNF for me at this point. The story and combat are the least compelling,to me, of the Quintet Trilogy. And yesterday I accidentally reset the game and lost about an hour of progress that I am not sure I care to repeat. At this point I might just look up the rest of the story on YouTube and call it a day.

One highlight though, the pixel art is all top notch, and I enjoyed all of the β€œpainted” scenes. I also feel like Alundra took several notes from this one, and I think that might be a replay I slot in soon.

Finished up game two of the Quintet trilogy today, Illusion of Gaia. Other than a couple of semi-challenging boss fights, this one is another easy one that is always fun to re-play. Went ahead and used a guide for the Red Jewels, because holy crap some of those are well hidden. The story in this one is probably more out there than Soul Blazer, but never strays too far into preachy.

Next is onward to Terranigma, which I think I have started but never finished before. Reviews are all pretty positive, so I am looking forward to it!

Decided to play the Quintet Trilogy as a bit of a palate cleanse before I dive into the Final Fantasy games. Finished Soul Blazer today, I really enjoy this one a lot, but holy carp on this playthrough I couldn't help but be distracted by just how badly edited and proofed the script was in English. The 4-direction movement feels a little wooden compared to the usual 8. Anyway a fun way to spend a Saturday evening, I think my total time was less than 6 hours. On to Illusion of Gaia next!

The rollicking third (Molto vivace) movement of Wilhelm Berger's Op. 95 Piano Quintet (I've posted the slow movement before), here played in a live video by some very talented young players: Timofey Ivanov (15, piano), Mariam Obolashvili (14, violin), Mayte Levenbach (16, violin), Anastasiia Krivosheina (viola) and Yan Khmelevsky (16, cello):
