Who is your favourite fictional character from any work whose name (if they only have one) or first name begins with the letter "A".
It's possible I'm missing a slam dunk here who'd rank even higher but Andy from the Undead Unluck anime/manga is a favorite of mine. He's loyal to a fault, irreverent, and alternately helped and cursed by powers he uses very very creatively. He is willing to help people at great cost to himself. He's cool.
His "Undead" power keeps him from dying and regenerates his body but doesn't make him invulnerable, and so his fighting style makes frequent and heroic usage of his self mutilation.
His "way older than he looks," trauma, and rapid physical regeneration make him feel like a very anime version of Marvel's Wolverine.
