This article reflects on the significance of the affective turn for work in cultural studies and #queerstudies, paying particular attention to the distinction between #archivaltheory and #archivalpractice. It focuses on #queerarchives and especially the creative methods of artists in the #archives. It closes with a brief return to #Derrida’s #ArchiveFever by way of acknowledging its influence

Частный пригаражный архив современного искусства RAAN переименовал метку «ЛГБТИК+» в «различие», а метку «квир-теория» в «теорию различий». Метками помечены 161 (+18) и 182 (−35) объекта в их онлайн-базе, то есть как минимум 35 объектов они из-за квирности припрятали (то, что это из-за квирности, это моё мало на чём основанное предположение). #RAAN #queerculture #queerarchives #Aesopianlanguage #queerinvisibility

Queer Archives | trans*missions

With a group of queer and trans* young adults, we embarked on a journey through the queer archives of Berlin — searching for trans* traces, stories, and echoes across time. Like the “✱”, the archives became crossing points and anchors: from Hirschfeld’s first clinic for trans people in Berlin’s Tiergarten, to West Berlin’s pioneering homosexual radio station of the 1990s, Eldoradio, reaching across the wall. From hanky codes tucked into scrap paper zines to paintings left at the Spree — we followed the signals. The “✱” points toward many lineages, time currents, and biographies. We listened into Leerstellen and collaged new and old (hi)stories from what we found. Join us for two hours of shared reflections, sound experiments, and transmissions.

@stefandumont @AndreaRapp @correspSearch Eben! Ich hatte beim #SkeivtArkiv #QueerArchives nachgefragt, die haben natürlich viele Briefe in ihrer Sammlung, zeitgenössisch. Der #DataPrivacy Aspekt ist da ganz wichtig, daher für #NorKorr zZ nicht verwertbar, leider. Eine andere tolle Briefsammlung ist im Archiv der Arbeiterbewegung in Norwegen. Aber ganz konkret arbeiten wir jetzt mit der privaten und akademischen Korrespondenz von #ChristopherHansteen, dem norwegischen Astronomen und Physiker!
