Can someone help me with #Debian #Linux audio & #Systemd

I have a folder of audio files (mp3) which I want to play every day at the same time - even if no users are logged in. The computer automatically restarts each day.

I'm stuck in trying to figure out (1) How to set this up as Systemd Services & Timers, (2) Which audio system (example: #PulseAudio)? (3) How can I ensure audio system is available before login?

I have an issue with my #kodi installation.

My kodi runs on a #ugreen #NAS, is attached to my #yamaha receiver that forwards audio to my 5.1 speakers and video to my TV.

While watching movies, it seems that single audio frames get dropped and the receiver switches of the speakers and turns them back on. This happens very fast, within a fraction of a second, so that spoken words sometimes miss only one syllable.

And of course it is massively annoying.

I tested:

* Notebook via HDMI to receiver for audio+video - no issues
* Playing the same video file via #mpv
(by getting the underlying #jellyfin stream URL) with `--no-video` - no sound issues either!

I now applied https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/26125 and will be trying this maybe this weekend, which seems related, because I get the log spamming in my #pulseaudio log, too.
I am not sure whether this could fix the issue though.

I also will triple-check that kodi uses the right audio format for playback, I've read something about issues when the receiver assumes a different format than kodi is exporting (although I cannot imagine how sound would still work then).

Does someone have any idea what I could try as well?

Morgen dann die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse in die Sendezentrale einbauen.

Plus herausfinden, wie ich virtuelle Workspaces in #XFCE ausschalte.

irgendeiner schafft es immer auf andere Workspaces umzuschalten und dann sieht es wieder so aus als sei alles geschlossen...

Aber bisher konnte ich alles voreinstellen was ich wollte :)

Ich mag es, wenn Software so gut zusammen kann...

In dem Fall: #Docker, #X11, XFCE, #Pulseaudio, #noVNC, #OBS, #MPV und viele, viele GNU/Tools, die das alles verbinden!
