Fortunately, as a practitioner who had worked in #publicprotection b4 Probation was privatised, I had experience of managing high risk cases. So I knew what to do to manage his risk (which involved a lot of work as essentially I was now doing it on my own). However there were hundreds of new staff brought into the private sector who did not have my experience & who were not qualified to do risk assessments- which takes years of training. 3/4
