The Canton of Ticino is introducing a secure, in-house AI translation system powered by Apertus, Switzerland’s open-source large language model developed by EPFL, ETH Zürich and CSCS.
By keeping both data and infrastructure local, the system addresses privacy concerns around sensitive documents while maintaining strong translation performance.
